Welcome to the website of the Abergele Camera Club.
The Club was formed in 2008 to provide a friendly, social meeting place for members with an interest in photography.
Our meetings take place from 7.30pm until 9.30pm every second and fourth Monday of each month, at St Paul’s Chapel, Bridge Street, Abergele.
All are welcome to come along for a couple of evenings to try us out before becoming a member.
Costs of membership is £20.00 for the club year which begins in February at the AGM.
There is a £1.50 entry fee for each meeting to cover the cost of the venue.
You can download the membership application form and bring it along to any meeting or just come along to a meeting and collect one there.
Members are encouraged to bring in their cameras if they have any specific questions about them, along with the camera manual.
We also encourage you to bring in samples of your work to show other members and receive constructive comments to help improve your photography.
Above all, we are a friendly, helpful club, open to both novice and experienced alike.
More details about the club programme and the aspects of photography covered by the club can be found in the Events section.
St Paul’s Chapel, Abergele
The Club was formed to fill a gap in the area and to fulfil a requirement that appeared lacking in other similar clubs – to educate its members in the arts and skills of photography.
Where-as most camera clubs are competition-based and there will always be willingness by individual members to answer any specific question, there is no active education of the membership. Abergele Camera Club hopes to address this need.
One of its aims is to supply its membership with the basic knowledge of the use of the camera and photography, with all its styles and genres, to enable them to further their photographic abilities to their fullest extent.
The Club gives tutorials by the more experienced members and by invited guests with the expertise in various aspects of photography. We also organise field trips to places of interest.
